Political analysts say securing a favourable court ruling may not prove sufficient to salvage President Cyril Ramaphosa's political standing.
Even a victory in the Western Cape High Court regarding his urgent bid to interdict the impeachment committee, may not be enough to save President Cyril Ramaphosa’s political reputation as ANC leader.
This is according to political analysts, who said Ramaphosa’s credibility is already in jeopardy due to growing public sentiment that he has failed to lead the country effectively.
This comes as Ramaphosa is currently awaiting judgment in the Western Cape High Court regarding his urgent bid to interdict Parliament's Section 89 impeachment committee.
His urgent application follows a Constitutional Court (ConCourt) ruling which declared Parliament’s 2022 vote to block his impeachment unlawful, forcing the National Assembly to reopen the investigation into the 2020 theft of $580,000 hidden in a sofa at his Phala Phala farm.
