During a Supreme Council of the Judiciary meeting attended by President Masoud Pezeshkian on Monday, July 20, Judiciary Chief Gholamhossein Mohseni-Ejei stated that officials of the Islamic Republic are united against the enemy and “must not yield a single inch.”
Highlighting the wartime conditions, Mohseni-Ejei emphasized that timing is decisive in decision-making and that delays could lead to missed opportunities.
He stressed that, under such circumstances, executive officials must be granted the necessary powers to carry out their duties without delay, while also being subject to oversight to prevent errors.
Declaring, “We must fight and seek vengeance,” Mohseni-Ejei acknowledged that public grievances regarding inflation and market instability are “legitimate concerns” that require attention. He noted the need to increase public resilience, adding that President Pezeshkian has consistently advocated leveraging the people’s capacity.
In another portion of his address, the Judiciary Chief accused individuals he described as “hypocrites” (monafiqeen) and “infiltrators” of operating “under the guise of regime loyalists” to spread hopelessness. He claimed that their efforts aim to distract the public and authorities with “insignificant matters,” diverting focus from core priorities.
