Prime Minister Laaulialemalietoa Leuatea Schmidt visited Samoan seasonal workers in Hastings in what the Government described as the beginning of his official New Zealand visit.
The Government announced on Sunday evening that the Prime Minister began the visit in Hawke's Bay, where he met Samoan Recognised Seasonal Employer (RSE) workers employed by apple producer Mr Apple.
According to travel documents obtained and verified by the Samoa Observer, Laaulialemalietoa is scheduled to depart Hastings at 4.45 p.m. on Monday, July 20, aboard Air New Zealand flight NZ5895. He is expected to arrive in Wellington at 5.45 p.m. The Government said the delegation would hold bilateral discussions with New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon in Wellington.
