Pretoria West's two high-rise buildings constructed without approved plans was previously demolished by the City of Tshwane.

A crackdown by the City of Tshwane’s Bad Buildings Committee on non-compliant property owners has generated R6.4 million in building plan revenue over the past two quarters.

Flora Monama, Member of the Mayoral Committee for Shared and Corporate Services, said the committee has been working tirelessly to restore law, order, and safety to communities.

“Through consistent, targeted enforcement, the committee’s ongoing efforts are yielding major results not only in addressing non-compliant structures, but also in bringing significant revenue back to the municipality,” Monama said.

She said teams involved in the ongoing bad buildings operation are on the ground weekly, serving contravention notices to properties operating illegally.
