The community noted that his detention continued despite claims that investigations found he had no connection to the dispute that led to his arrest.
The Urum community in Anambra State has appealed to the Inspector-General of Police, Tunji Dusi, and other relevant authorities to secure the release of Anigbankpu Johnpaul Jideofor, a father of four who has remained in detention in Abuja.
The community noted that his detention continued despite claims that investigations found he had no connection to the dispute that led to his arrest.
The appeal follows the discovery that another detainee, Chibueze Onuorah, had been transferred from Abuja to the Amawbia Custodial Centre in Anambra State without the knowledge of his family or legal representative.
While Chibueze's transfer brought relief to his family, members of the Urum community said it had also raised fresh concerns over why Anigbankpu was left behind in Abuja.
