The Tiruchi City Corporation has announced a temporary reduction in drinking water supply timings for Wards 1 to 7 due to a decline in the water level in the Kollidam.According to an official press note, drinking water from the Aalavandhan Padithurai Pumping Station used to supplied twice daily from 5 a.m. to 8.30 a.m. and again from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. However, the reduced water level has affected the pumping station’s ability to maintain the existing schedule.As a temporary measure, until the water shortage is resolved, residents of Wards 1 to 7 will receive drinking water only once a day, from 5 a.m. to 8 a.m. The Corporation has appealed to the public to cooperate during this period and use drinking water sparingly.
