Salem Corporation Commissioner Lalitaditya Neelam on Saturday (July 18, 2026), inspected various development works in Kondalampatti zone in the district.The Commissioner inspected the solid waste vehicles collecting waste door-to-door in Gugai, Jagadeesh Chetti Cross Street and Main Road, Mulluvadi South Street, Annathanapatti, Housing Board, Rangasamy Goundar Street, Karuvattumandi Main Road, and Murugan Kadu in Wards 46 and 47.Likewise, the Commissioner inspected the desilting and development of sewage channels at Mulluvadi South Street, Ramalingam Samy Kovil Street, Singarapetti New Street, Ramalingam Market Street, Andipatti Lake, Housing Board, Vasantham Nagar, PGR Main Road, Karuvattumandi Main Road, and Thiruvagoundanur. The Commissioner also checked if conservancy workers were attending to the work on time.The Commissioner also inspected the development works of sewage channels at the cost of ₹96 lakh in Singarapetti New Street and Singarapetti Market Street. He advised the assistant engineer to construct small bridges and sewage channels wherever required, and instructed the engineers to remove the bushes behind the sanitary complex. Later, he inspected the removal of construction waste at a stream in Thiruvagoundanur Bypass Road at Ward 23 in the Sooramangalam zone.Officials from departments concerned and councillors were present during the inspection.
