Stormwater drain work under way on Arcot Road

The Greater Chennai Corporation Commissioner G.S. Sameeran on Wednesday inspected stormwater drain work on Arcot Road in Kodambakkam zone. Later, the Commissioner visited a Ward office in Anna Nagar zone and reviewed the implementation of the Chief Minister’s Breakfast Scheme for sanitation workers. The review focused on the functioning of the scheme and the facilities being provided to workers.Later, he inspected facilities at the Chennai Corporation playground in Anna Nagar. He reviewed the gymnasium and sports infrastructure available at the ground and inspected maintenance arrangements. Corporation officials were directed to ensure the upkeep of facilities. Meanwhile, civic infrastructure works at the Koyambedu Canal and on Poonamallee High Road was reviewed by S. Saravanan, the new Joint Commissioner (Works), Greater Chennai Corporation.
