Kurnool Municipal Corporation (KMC) Commissioner Challa Obulesu on Thursday instructed officials to issue show-cause notices to sanitation secretaries who are found negligent in discharging their duties.

The Commissioner conducted an inspection of the muster rolls for Sanitation Division – II and inspected sanitation operations in Wards 4 and 5. Expressing displeasure with staff members who displayed negligence in discharging their duties, the Commissioner directed officials to issue show-cause notices to the sanitation secretaries concerned.

The Commissioner also directed the Sanitation Inspector to cut the wages of nine sanitation staff members who reported late for duty. Mr. Obulesu said that he would personally conduct inspections during the afternoon hours, not just at the end of the workday. He warned that any employee who signs the muster roll but does not attend work will face action, including immediate termination of services

Meanwhile, Mr. Obulesu issued orders to undertake cleaning operations along the banks of Tungabhadra river near Rambhotla temple. He instructed that the newly-constructed community toilets in Mangaligeri be cleaned and made available for public use.

The Commissioner also inspected the King Market area, where he issued instructions to the traders regarding sanitation and the removal of encroachments on the roads. He made it clear that every trader must mandatorily install a dustbin outside their shop and failure to do so would result in imposition of fines.
