Kurnool Municipal Corporation (KMC) Commissioner Challa Obulesu said that special focus should be placed on cleanliness along riverbanks, and awareness in this regard should be raised.Mr Obulesu on Saturday inspected the catchment areas of Tungabhadra river at Sankalbagh, Handri river at Raj Vihar, and K.C. Canal tributary stretch from Vinayaka Ghat to Joharapuram. He directed the officials to keep the river catchment areas within the city limits clean and to raise awareness about cleanliness among local residents.The Commissioner emphasised the need to ensure that river catchment areas remain clean for the public who visit there for daily walks. He instructed officials to create awareness among residents about the significance of not dumping garbage along the riverbanks and to immediately address any lapses in door-to-door garbage collection.He also inspected the sewage treatment plant at Sankalbagh and conducted a surprise inspection at the Anna Canteen located within the government hospital premises.
