Kurnool Municipal Corporation (KMC) Commissioner Challa Obulesu, on a sanitation round in the city, has ordered fines on two shops behind Sharaf Bazaar for not installing dustbins which had left the area unhygienic.The commissioner inspected sanitation operations in the Old Bus Stand, Sunkesula Road and N. R. Peta areas on the morning of Tuesday (June 2, 2026). He warned that if they continued to neglect sanitation, their shops would be liable for seizure, if necessary.He warned that the trade licences of merchants in the city would be cancelled if they acted arbitrarily and failed to cooperate with efforts to keep the city clean.The commissioner also expressed dissatisfaction over waste from the premises of a nearby water tank being dumped on the main road. He said the waste must be handed over to municipal waste collection vehicles, and that strict action would be taken against anyone found dumping garbage on the roads.During his visit, the commissioner found unhygienic conditions and an accumulation of garbage at a junction, which is the boundary of three sanitation divisions.
