Nagapattinam Collector K.J. Praveen Kumar on Thursday inspected several ongoing infrastructure and tourism development projects across the district, directing officials to ensure timely completion while maintaining quality standards.At the Old Beach in Nagapattinam, he reviewed the proposed development of a one-acre recreational park by the Tourism Department at an estimated cost of ₹2.10 crore. The project will include a park, vehicle parking facilities, and public toilets.The Collector also visited the Akkaraipettai Railway overbridge site and reviewed the encroachment removal work required for the project.At Sellur on the East Coast Road, he took stock of the progress of construction of a ₹30.40-crore bus terminal spread across 38,900 sq. m. The facility will provide parking for 30 buses, 42 cars, and 368 two-wheelers, along with 80 commercial shops, two restaurants, waiting rooms, toilets and 20 CCTV cameras. He instructed the officials to maintain high construction standards and expedite the remaining work.During his visit to Velankanni, Mr. Kumar reviewed the Tourism Department’s proposal to construct a decorative entrance arch with ornamental lighting at an estimated cost of ₹1.88 lakh.
