There was a total shutdown affecting healthcare nationwide, as health workers were prevented from going to work. Transportation was disrupted, and those who secretly tried to report for duty were assaulted, with some forced to sleep at their workplaces.
The protesters called it the “mother of all strikes”, demanding that government address unfair working conditions and improve salaries for workers in public sector facilities.
