As of the morning of July 16, Russian attacks left consumers without electricity in six Ukrainian regions, while nationwide electricity consumption has begun to decline.
According to Ukrinform, Ukraine's power grid operator Ukrenergo announced this on Facebook.
"As a result of Russian drone attacks and artillery shelling in frontline regions, new power outages have been recorded this morning in the Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Chernihiv, Sumy and Kharkiv regions. Emergency repair crews are already carrying out restoration work wherever the security situation allows," the statement said.
As of 09:30 on Thursday, electricity consumption was 4.5% lower than the previous day. Ukrenergo attributed the shift from the upward consumption trend seen in recent days to clear weather across Ukraine, which has boosted the output of household solar power systems.
Ukrenergo advised consumers to use high-power electrical appliances between 10:00 and 15:00, when industrial solar power plants are operating at their highest efficiency.
