Law enforcement in action: A coordinated effort to recover stolen vehicles along the N4 corridor.

RECENT police operations in Mpumalanga have led to the recovery of four stolen vehicles, highlighting the strategic routes used by criminal syndicates for vehicle trafficking across borders.

While the N4 corridor - where law enforcement and private security partners intercepted these vehicles - remains a primary route into Mozambique, security analysts warn that the battle against vehicle trafficking extends far beyond these major highways.

The coordinated sweep was conducted by the White River Flying Squad, Provincial Anti-Hijacking Task Team (Ehlanzeni), Tonga Visible Policing (VISPOL), and Tracker Recoveries.

Mpumalanga police spokesperson Captain Mpho Nonyane-Mpe said that on Sunday, a Toyota Hilux, stolen in the Brits policing area (in early July) and fitted with false registration plates and transmitting a tracker signal on the N4, was intercepted, leading to the arrest of a 39-year-old foreign national.
