The temporary detention orders for three members of Kurdish “seeking-justice” families in Kamyaran have been extended for another month, while they remain deprived of phone calls with their families, access to legal counsel, and judicial review of their torture complaints.
The Kurdistan Human Rights Network reported that Branch 3 of the Interrogation Department of the Kamyaran Public and Revolutionary Court had extended the detentions of Kajal Rahmani, Isa Feizi, and Danial Rahmani for an additional month.
The three Kurdish citizens, who are being held in solitary confinement units at Kamyaran Prison and Sanandaj Women’s Prison, learned of the extension after being summoned to the prison’s enforcement unit.
Since their arrests, the detainees have been barred from making phone calls to their families or contacting defence lawyers. They have only been permitted a few brief, face-to-face family visits under the strict supervision of prison guards.
According to the Kurdistan Human Rights Network, following their initial family visit on June 28, Isa Feizi and Danial Rahmani reported being subjected to severe physical and psychological torture by interrogators from the Kamyaran Intelligence Department aimed at extracting forced confessions.
