The Cupra Raval is the first model in the Volkswagen Group’s new family of electric compact cars. When it launched in April, the Spanish brand announced a broad model range but initially opened orders only for the higher-spec variants. Since then, customers have been able to choose from three Launch Editions starting at €37,250.
Cupra had originally planned to introduce the entry-level Raval, priced from €25,950, in summer. The configurator now lists its arrival for September. In the meantime, the brand has added a more affordable variant to the configurator: the Raval Plus, which sits one step above the upcoming base model.
The Raval’s drivetrain and battery lineup reveals a clear split between entry-level and higher-performance variants. Like the VW ID. Polo, Cupra offers the electric small car with power outputs of 85, 99, 155 and 166 kW. Customers can choose between two battery options: the 85 kW and 99 kW versions use a 37 kWh net LFP battery, while the 155 kW and 166 kW variants feature a 52 kWh NMC battery.
The newly configurable Raval Plus, priced at just under €30,000, combines the 99 kW front-mounted motor with the 37 kWh battery. Cupra describes the variant as the “entry into the mid-range performance class of the fully electric city car.” According to the manufacturer, deliveries of this trim are scheduled to begin in mid-September.
