Confiscated liquor displayed by police following the closure of an illegal shebeen in Ivory Park, where a woman was arrested for operating without a valid permit.
A 45-year-old woman has been arrested in Ivory Park, Ekurhuleni, after police allegedly discovered that she was operating a liquor outlet using a shebeen permit issued to a different person.
The arrest was made on Tuesday during a joint operation conducted by the Gauteng Provincial FLASH (PHO) Liquor Control Team and the Ivory Park SAPS Designated Liquor Officer (DLO).
Police spokesperson Captain Tintswalo Sibeko said officers acted on information received and carried out an inspection at a liquor outlet in Extension 10, Ivory Park.
Police said the inspection revealed that the premises were trading under a shebeen permit that did not belong to the current operator.
