Illegal alcohol confiscted by police.

In another counterfeit liquor bust, more Chinese nationals have been arrested after police uncovered an illicit liquor operation valued at nearly R9.75 million during a high-level intelligence-driven operation in Paarl.

The latest arrest of three Chinese nationals on Thursday comes just a week after the police's Counterfeit Unit, SANDF, the Liquor Authority, and SARS in Eerste River found a liquor store with suspected fake alcohol worth R3.5 million, which was planned for export.

A man was arrested and appeared in the Blue Downs Magistrate’s Court.

In Paarl, the operation was carried out by SAPSs Provincial Counterfeit and Illicit Goods policing team, working together with the Anti-Economic Crimes Task Team, following intelligence about a suspect linked to a liquor outlet in Stellenbosch and a warehouse operating in Paarl.
