The group appealed to the Federal Government to intensify efforts to free hundreds of other Nigerians still being held by kidnappers across the country.

The Campaign for Democratic and Workers' Rights (CDWR) has attributed the successful rescue of pupils and teachers abducted from schools in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State to the power of sustained public pressure.

The group appealed to the Federal Government to intensify efforts to free hundreds of other Nigerians still being held by kidnappers across the country.

In a statement issued on Tuesday by its Oyo State chapter Coordinator, Bamigboye Abiodun, popularly known as Abbey Trotsky, the group welcomed the release of the victims after more than 55 days in captivity but warned against turning the development into political propaganda.

SaharaReporters had reported that armed gunmen attacked three schools in the Yawota and Ahoro Esienle communities of Oriire Local Government Area, Oyo State, on May 15, 2026, abducting 39 pupils and six teachers.
