Athens has the advantage of being among the cities with the most dynamic wage growth in the last decade, a Deutsche Bank survey has shown.
The net average monthly salary in Athens is estimated at $1,321 this year, having grown 61% over the past decade (it was $819 in 2016).
However, in the same period, rents in Athens increased more than anywhere else in the world. Athens may be far from the most expensive cities in the survey, but data show that rent for a three-bedroom apartment in the capital has risen more than 144% since 2016, to $1,330 today. That puts Athens rock-bottom among 50 cities in quality of life.
