Justice E. O. Ashade of the Lagos State High Court, sitting in Yaba, has extended an interim order restraining the Lagos State Government, the Attorney-General of Lagos State, Lawal Pedro (SAN), Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Mr Gary Sanusi and Dillon Consultants Nigeria Limited from taking possession of or interfering with a disputed property in Lekki Peninsula Scheme I pending the hearing of an application for interlocutory injunction.
The court granted the extension after counsel to the claimant, Prof Babatunde Oni (SAN), applied for a continuation of the interim orders pending the determination of the motion on notice.
The suit was instituted by Chief H.A.K. Shonowo, suing for herself and on behalf of the estate of her late husband, Chief Owodiran Shonowo.
Oni had urged the court to extend the lifespan of the interim orders pending the hearing and determination of the motion on notice for interlocutory injunction.
At the proceedings, there was no legal representation for the defendants, and none of the parties was present in court.
