The Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos State, has ordered the final forfeiture of 52 terrace and maisonette houses located in Lekki to the Federal Government after ruling that the properties were reasonably suspected to be proceeds of unlawful activities.

Justice Alexandra Owoeye gave the order on Wednesday, granting an application filed by the Lagos Zonal Directorate 2 of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The properties, situated at Mercyville Estate, Covenant Way, off New Road, Ilasan, Lekki, Lagos, were recovered from Fielddreams Limited, Ifeanyi Nweke and Amex Savings and Loans Limited.

This contained in a statement EFCC issued on Saturday which was shared on its official X handle.

The application for the final forfeiture was argued by EFCC counsel, Franklin Ofoma, who told the court that the commission had complied with all legal requirements, including the publication of an earlier interim forfeiture order directing interested parties to show cause why the properties should not be permanently forfeited.
