With 45 giant installations strewn across the vineyards, olive groves and wooded slopes of a Provencal estate the size of Monaco, there’s a fair bit of trekking. I climb to Tadao Ando’s serene hilltop chapel and gaze over the Luberon, peer through the ironwork of Bob Dylan’s rail cart at vine-draped slopes, venture into Richard Roger’s bright orange gallery cantilevered over the hillside and follow Ai Weiwei’s cobbled pathway down the hill.Two-and-a-half hours later, I’m parched. Fortunately, Château La Coste, a 40-minute drive from Marseille airport, has a wine trail to rival the art and architecture. My subsequent tasting of a few of the 1.2 million bottles of organic wine it produces annually is definitely more glug and grin than swirl and sip. But I’m not even a tad tipsy.
