Wales forwards coach Danny Wilson takes the players though their paces during a training session. The visitors are under no illusions about the physical challenge that awaits them when they take on the Springboks in the Nations Cahmpionship clash at Kings Parks on Saturday.

Wales forwards coach Danny Wilson believes Saturday's Nations Championship showdown with the Springboks at Kings Park presents the perfect opportunity for his side to prove how far they have come, despite admitting they fell short against Argentina last weekend.

Having opened their campaign with a victory over Fiji, Wales suffered a setback against Los Pumas, with Wilson pinpointing a costly loss of momentum through the middle stages of the match as the key reason for the defeat.

"I think collectively we were a little bit disappointed with the performance, particularly the middle third of the game where we dropped off," Wilson said after Tuesday's training session in Durban. "We've looked at the positives but also addressed the negatives. Our expectations and standards are going up, and we've got to keep finding ways to get over the line in international rugby."

Wilson said the biggest lesson from the Argentina defeat was the need to generate more momentum with ball in hand.
