Six changes, a 6-2 bench split, and a demand for a "real physical edge". Wales' Steve Tandy and Co are steeling themselves for a massive physical showdown against the world champion Springboks in Durban this Saturday. Photo: AFP

A real physical edge.

That is what Wales coach Steve Tandy wants to see when his side takes on the Springboks in Durban on Saturday in the third round of the Nations Championship.

Tandy has made six changes to his starting XV from last weekend, bolstering his pack for the contest at Kings Park (5.40pm kick-off).

Up front, only lock Teddy Williams has fewer than 10 caps as he comes into the side, while flyhalf Dan Edwards and outside centre Max Llewellyn are the only backs with fewer than 20 Test appearances. Wales have also opted for a 6-2 split on the bench in favour of the forwards, underlining the physical battle they expect against the world champions.
