A comedian has shared how much he was paid for appearing on a reality show13:46, 14 Jul 2026A popular comedian has lifted the lid on what he pocketed after appearing on a TV reality show.‌Matt Richardson, who shot to fame charming the nation as co-presenter on the ITV2 spin-off The Xtra Factor, previously appeared on Celebrity Coach Trip back in 2022.‌The iconic comedian joined the Channel 4 hit show alongside Big Brother presenter Will Best as they went on a coach tour across Europe with a number of famous faces.‌Throughout the trip, they had to vote for who they wanted to eject from the coach until one team was crowned the winner.Reflecting on his stint, the star disclosed the exact amount he was paid for his six days on the show as he revealed that he walked away with £12,000.‌When a TikTok follower asked about the compensation for participating in the programme, Matt didn't hold back. The TV personality shared: "12 grand I got for Coach Trip, which I didn't think was bad considering I was on it for 6 days."Matt went on to disclose that he'd actually haggled that sum upwards with producers, who had initially proposed £5,000."They came in and originally offered something like five and I know that a couple of the others were on three or four grand because they mentioned it.‌“But we weren't really talking about our fees together on the show. Because I don't know these people, I wouldn't really talk about money as openly and be like, 'I'm getting this' when you're with them, you know, that would be weird."Like this, in hindsight, I think is a little bit easier," Matt explained.‌Elaborating that the payment remained constant regardless of performance, Matt added: "Coach Trip was just a set fee no matter how long you were in it – no winning bonus.“Um, so me and Will Best were like, 'Well, the less we're in this, the better it is for us. Like, I'm not staying out here for three weeks, let's get home, mate'."The duo appeared on the show alongside stars like Linda Robson, Honey G, Paul Danan and Sophie Kasaei.Article continues belowAt the time, Matt seemingly couldn't contain his excitement for the trip, exclaiming: "I can’t wait to spend a holiday on a coach filled with celebs.
