Around 4,000 civilians remain in the frontline town of Druzhkivka in Ukraine's Donetsk region, where evacuation is still possible despite the deteriorating security situation.

Head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration Vadym Filashkin said this during a television broadcast, Ukrinform reports.

Filashkin stressed that Druzhkivka, located in the Kramatorsk district, is currently facing the most difficult conditions in the region. The town is without electricity, running water, and gas supplies. Residents are relying on drinking water from wells, while Points of Invincibility continue to operate.

"Unfortunately, it is currently impossible for utility crews to restore the power supply. Many of our energy workers have been injured, and, regrettably, some have been killed. Their vehicles have also been damaged. The enemy is trying to take control of the access roads leading to Druzhkivka. That is why the situation there is the most difficult. About 4,000 people still remain in the town," Filashkin said.

He once again urged residents to evacuate while it is still possible.
