In Ukraine’s Donetsk region, police officers evacuated several families from the frontline town of Druzhkivka in the Kramatorsk district while under attack by enemy FPV drones, and also rescued civilians who had fled on foot from Kostiantynivka.
According to Ukrinform, the regional police reported the operation on Telegram and released video footage of the rescue.
Police said officers managed to evacuate several families from frontline Druzhkivka. To ensure civilians could safely reach evacuation vehicles, law enforcement officers opened fire on enemy FPV drones.
The crew also evacuated four people who had walked out of Kostiantynivka. The civilians had been traveling for about four hours, with relatives pushing one woman in a wheelchair. According to police, the family’s home was destroyed by Russian attacks, though fortunately no one was injured.
“There is no town left… The bombing is so intense that houses are lifted into the air. People are being buried in their gardens,” one evacuated man said while describing life in Kostiantynivka.
