A prominent socio-cultural and political advocacy group in Kwara State, Orisun Igbomina, has expressed concern over the deepening internal crisis within the state chapter of the All Progressives Congress, warning that the party’s continued division could jeopardise its chances in the 2027 general elections.
The group noted that the emergence and activities of the G15 Coalition have underscored growing discontent within the ruling party, cautioning that failure to address the crisis could weaken the APC and strengthen the opposition Peoples Democratic Party.
In a statement signed by its National President, Gbenga Awoyale, on Sunday, Orisun Igbomina described the G15 Coalition as a significant political force that can no longer be ignored.
According to the group, the coalition comprises ten leading APC governorship aspirants, three serving senators, a majority of the state’s National Assembly members, members of the Kwara State House of Assembly, party elders, as well as women and youth leaders.
