Calls for witnesses after mother shot dead in front of her son (5) in Greenwood Park

A Greenwood Park mother was shot and killed in front of her five-year-old son, who sustained injuries from glass and shrapnel.

The police are investigating the incident, urging witnesses to come forward.

Michael Bester, spokesperson for the Greenwood Park Community Policing Forum (CPF) said the Greenwood Park police were investigating one count of murder and one of attempted murder following the shooting in Blackburn Road.

He said the 42-year-old mother was discovered inside her vehicle with multiple gunshot wounds.
