Operatives of the Special Weapons and Tactics Unit of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested 43 suspects during a raid on a suspected criminal hideout in Isheri Olofin along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway as part of the ongoing Operation Kosaye.

The police said the operation followed credible intelligence indicating that the area, opposite the Kara Cattle Market, had become a haven for cultists, drug dealers, prostitutes and other criminal elements.

Items recovered during the operation included suspected hard drugs, 10 mobile phones, four power banks, a rechargeable hand fan, a cross-body bag containing two ATM cards and a National Identity Card, among other exhibits.

The command’s spokesperson, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, disclosed this in a statement issued on Sunday.

According to him, the Commander of the SWAT Unit, CSP Murphy, deployed operatives who carried out the coordinated operation at about 11 p.m. on July 7.
