The suspects, identified as Afisu Awesu, Bala Aminu, Moruf Sodiq, also known as "Okiki", Mumuni Amodu, alias "Stone", Abayomi John, alias "Ibafo", and Adeboye Ojesina, were arrested in separate intelligence-led operations carried out by operatives of the Violent Crime Response Unit (VCRU), Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Unit, and the Ibafo Division.

The Ogun State Police Command says it has dismantled multiple criminal networks across different parts of the state, arresting six suspects and recovering firearms, ammunition, generators and mobile phones suspected to be linked to criminal activities.

According to the police, the operations conducted in Abeokuta, Wasimi and Ibafo led to the recovery of one pump-action rifle, one locally fabricated pistol, two live cartridges, one expended cartridge, five generators and nine Android phones believed to have been stolen.
