The first quarter of the year saw a 13.4% decrease in sales for new health insurance plans, compared to the same period in 2025, and a 50% reduction in traditional life insurance plans.

This comes as the cost of private insurance goes up year by year and the cost of living also increases. Insurance companies are struggling to attract new customers at a time when households face higher living costs.

The decline in the two main sectors in the industry was offset by sales of investment plans, which doubled, as the insurance market gradually shifts from its traditional role as a savings mechanism to an investment management role.
