This year has been a tough one so far for the food service industry, as revenue in the first quarter fell by 1.9% year-on-year, with losses exceeding €42 million.

The question is what will happen in the summer season and whether the trend observed in recent years regarding meals eaten inside accommodations by domestic and foreign tourists will continue and even increase.

The signs are not positive, according to a survey conducted by the Research Institute for Retail Consumer Good (IELKA).

One in two respondents said they will not take a vacation this year, and 41% that they often cook while on vacation.
