An anonymous email to the Hellenic Police alleging that a 35-year-old police officer was distributing illegal steroids on Mykonos has led to the dismantling of a suspected steroid trafficking network.
According to reports, the officer was staying on the island while on fraudulent sick leave and allegedly provided “protection” services to local business owners. An investigation by the Internal Affairs Service uncovered the involvement of four people: the 35-year-old officer, his partner, a 40-year-old man, and a 56-year-old Polish national.
Authorities said the group had been operating since at least August 2025, importing and distributing high-strength steroids. The 40-year-old man and the Polish national allegedly handled the import and storage of the substances, while the officer and his partner were responsible for distribution.
Police have arrested the three Greek suspects, while the Polish national remains wanted. Authorities believe he left Greece during a previous Europe-wide operation targeting anabolic trafficking, fearing arrest.
A case file was also opened against 11 other people for various offenses, including two additional police officers and a doctor at a public hospital in Athens.
