MANILA, Philippines — The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) warned that the image of its L-shaped flood barriers along Edsa that circulated online was digitally manipulated.
In a Facebook post on Saturday, July 11, the MMDA said the photo that showed gutter-deep flood with floating trash along Epifanio de los Santos Avenue, Quezon City has clear signs of being generated using Artificial Intelligence (AI).
“The photo circulating on Facebook regarding the MMDA’s L-shaped flood barrier is not authentic and shows signs of being AI-generated or digitally manipulated,” MMDA said in Filipino.
