ABUJA — National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, has commended the Federal Government and security agencies for securing the release of pupils and teachers abducted in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.
In a statement issued on Saturday by his Special Adviser on Media and Information, Abimbola Tooki, Yilwatda described the successful rescue as a demonstration of the Tinubu administration’s commitment to protecting the lives and property of Nigerians.
He congratulated the security agencies and Nigerians on the release of the victims after days of uncertainty, saying the coordinated efforts of the Federal Government, Oyo State Government and security operatives were instrumental to the operation’s success.
The APC chairman expressed sympathy for the victims and their families over the trauma they experienced during their captivity and prayed for their full recovery and healing.
Yilwatda also commended the Nigerian Armed Forces, the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Services (DSS), the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), local intelligence networks and other agencies involved in the rescue operation.
