Karate SA's suspended bosses allegedly overcharged their fighters for overseas trips and pocketed the difference to fly business class, while poor athletes had no choice but to stay home.
Cash collected at tournament gates had also allegedly been stolen while the federation declared losses.
These are among the allegations that had been put to World Karate Federation investigators ahead of the precautionary suspension of the federation's entire executive, details of which have been seen by IOL.
Suspended KSA president Sonny Pillay had been approached for comment but had not responded by the time of publication.
