Suspended KSA President Sonny Pillay
The World Karate Federation has provisionally suspended Karate SA's entire national executive and appointed an interim board to run the federation pending disciplinary proceedings.
The world body announced the decision in a letter at the end of June, signed by its president Antonio Espinós, citing a report by two senior officials it sent to investigate the state of karate in SA.
IOL has seen the letter.
The office of sports, arts and culture minister Gayton McKenzie, who was copied on the letter, did not respond to IOL's request for comment.
