Tau Shakers relied on their experience to secure an 8-6 victory over Vailima Pacers in a tense men’s final, continuing their strong record in Samoa’s Taula tag series competition.

The closely contested match showed how much the standard of tag has improved, according to one of the Tau Shakers' captains, Terrell Afa Arp, with the Pacers pushing the defending champions until the final whistle.

Arp said the result reflected the growing strength of clubs across the competition, with several teams now capable of challenging for major titles.

“It just goes to show that all the teams are getting better,” Arp said. “When I first started, it was usually the same teams in the finals."
