IDAC head Andrea Johnson is back on the spotlight.
The Madlanga Commission has heard how the head of the Investigating Directorate Against Corruption (IDAC), Andrea Johnson, leaked information to Major General Feroz Khan, who was a suspect in a criminal case, in 2018.
This was revealed on Friday during the testimony of the now-retired Colonel Kobus Roelofse, who was attached to the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (DPCI), also known as the Hawks.
In 2020, Roelofse was part of a team placed at the Investigating Directorate (ID) of the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA), known as IDAC, investigating matters relating to state-owned entities and Crime Intelligence.
The complaint allowed Khan to have the complainant’s version of events before he could be brought in to make a warning statement, which Roelofse said was against procedure and is normally done when the suspect appears in court.
