The European jet fuel supply crisis has so far been averted by a massive influx of Jet A supplies from US refineries. As US refineries boosted jet yields to capture soaring margins for aviation fuel, the country sent 2,114,000 tons (91,510 barrels per day) to Europe in the first six months — more than eight times the 226,000 tons (9,783 b/d) it exported there in first-half 2025. With the ceasefire agreement between the US and Iran now in limbo, Europe may need to rely on US imports for much longer than through the summer months.
