Zappeion Hall, a landmark of neoclassical architecture, is at the center of a new Culture Ministry initiative for the area.
The ministry announced a cooperation agreement with the Olympic and Zappeion Legacy Committee to coordinate planning ahead of Greece’s 2027 EU Council presidency. The move follows criticism over management of the Zappeion area.
The ministry’s initiative expands focus beyond the Zappeion to a broader cultural, historical and natural landscape, including Vasilissis Olgas Avenue and Ardittos Hill.
