Jang “Kanavi” Gyeong-hwan has a simple theory about what it takes to win. Prepare well, play proactively, and the results follow. Coming off a statement win against T1 in the LCK Road to MSI finals, the Hanwha Life Esports jungler is applying that same philosophy to the team’s ambitions at MSI 2026.

Kanavi’s confidence is not unfounded. HLE dispatched T1 3-1 on June 12, 2026, in the LCK Road to MSI finals, locking up the region’s first seed heading into the international tournament hosted in Daejeon, South Korea. Kanavi earned Player of the Match honors for his performance in that series.

A new team, a familiar style

Kanavi joined HLE on November 23, 2025, after spending six seasons in China’s LPL. His resume is formidable: four LPL titles and one MSI trophy, all earned during his tenure with JD Gaming.

Teammate and mid laner Zeka has credited Kanavi as the team’s de facto leader in high-pressure moments, describing him as the driving force behind HLE’s willingness to take fights when other teams would hesitate.
