Clemson dominated the ACC for a decade with eight conference titles between 2015 and 2024, but now it’s all about Miami. Even though the Hurricanes did not win the ACC last season (or even play in the conference championship game), they still made it to the national title game. Now entering 2026, they are heavily favored to win the ACC.Miami is in the only ACC team in the top 15 of the major polls and is minus odds to win the conference at the major sportsbooks. Austin Mock’s projection model gives Miami a 56.5 percent chance of winning the ACC this season, which is the highest any FBS team has of winning its conference. Mock’s model also projects the Hurricanes at 10.2 wins, the third highest in the country.If Miami is to be stopped, SMU, Louisville and Clemson are viewed as the most likely contenders. SMU is the only other ACC team ranked in both the AP Top 25 and the coaches’ poll while Louisville and Clemson each made it in one of those. The odds reflect that. Pitt, Virginia and NC State are all around 20-to-1 on DraftKings.ACC oddsMock’s projections give SMU a solid chance at winning the conference at 14.4 percent and actually puts Virginia Tech ahead of Clemson.
