Ten months have passed since eight-year-old Anovuyo Oncke disappeared from Phumlani Village in Lotus River, yet the community remains resolute in its search, holding onto the hope of her safe return.
Anovuyo, a Grade 1 learner from Perivale Primary School, was last seen on the morning of September 6, 2025, as she left her home around 7am. At the time of her disappearance, she was wearing black pants and a pink pajama top, details that continue to haunt the residents as they tirelessly seek answers.
Residents said they now have a new suspect in their view in relation to the disappearance of Anovuyo, following a rape incident in the area on Saturday, July 4.
A 16-year-old girl went missing, and the man responsible for holding her hostage was part of the search party.
