A week after 11-year-old Natalia Asenova disappeared together with 40-year-old Asen Simeonov, police and hundreds of volunteers continue an extensive search across the Varna region, while investigators follow a growing number of leads that have yet to produce a confirmed sighting.
The latest report came from a shepherd who claimed to have seen the pair at a hunting cabin near the village of Velichkovo. Police are verifying the information, but so far there is no confirmation that the child and the wanted man were there. Earlier reports also suggested they had been seen near Dalgopol, prompting officers to deploy drones and thermal imaging equipment to search the area. Those reports likewise remain unconfirmed.
Authorities have now expanded the search zone to roughly 1,200 square kilometers, with additional police resources being brought in from neighboring regions. According to Varna Regional Police Director Senior Commissioner Tsvetan Pirovski, search operations have also focused on the Avren and Provadia areas as efforts intensify.
Law enforcement officials once again urged the public not to approach Simeonov if he is spotted. Instead, anyone who believes they have seen him is asked to immediately contact emergency services by calling 112.
