Axed Social Development Minister Sisisi Tolashe
The Ministry of Social Development said disciplinary action is under way against one of the officials implicated in the irregular appointment of former minister Sisisi Tolashe’s private and appointment secretary and acting chief of staff Leside Mabiletja.
The Public Service Commission (PSC) conducted an investigation on its accord after reports surfaced last year, alleging irregular appointment of Mabiletja in the Ministry of Social Development.
Mabiletja was appointed as private and appointment secretary for a year and as acting chief of staff to Tolashe, despite not meeting the necessary qualifications or years of experience.
It also found that the former chief of staff committed fraud when she misrepresented her qualifications, employment history and employment status at the time of appointment.
