Newcastle United’s captain Bruno Guimaraes has informed the club he wants to leave for Arsenal, a move that could reshape the Premier League midfield hierarchy and, in a very 2026 twist, ripple through the growing market for sports-linked digital assets.
Arsenal is reportedly preparing a £60 million offer for the Brazilian midfielder after Newcastle rejected an initial £55 million bid.

Guimaraes joined Newcastle in January 2022 and still has two years remaining on his contract.
Newcastle has already moved to reinforce its midfield by signing Sean Steur from Ajax for £23 million plus add-ons, a fairly clear signal that the club is preparing for life after its captain even while publicly holding firm.
